Description

Hello, I'm Leanne - Carer, a Medic (and a mum of 2) for collectively over 15 years - born and bred in sunny Stockport!

I consider myself a positive, down to earth experienced carer, with a great deal to offer those who find themselves needing that little extra help. I have various hobbies and interests, finding it easy to strike conversation and engage with all age groups and ethnic backgrounds. I believe in finding that common ground that connects us as human beings so important to help form bonds and build trust.

My experience within the healthcare industry has allowed me to work with some unique individuals. They have helped me understand not only their personal situations but educated me to fully appreciate the importance of commitment, loyalty, person centered care and most importantly - dignity and respect. I am a strong advocate for empowering others - supporting the individual to make their own choices and living the life they want for themselves. I consider my standards of care to be high - treating all my patients/clients in a way I would want my own family to be treated.

I work for the ambulance service and mental health wards on a part time basis, both providing me with an incredible amount of clinical knowledge that proves very usual when caring for those who are of ill health and/or are frail. The great thing about my work is that I never stop learning - continuously soaking up vital information, adding to my portfolio and enabling me to adapt/evolve care practices. I have worked extensively with those living with dementia, motor neurone disease, MS, cerebral palsy, brain injuries, paraplegics, poor mental health and cancer, only to name a few. Regardless of the condition, the epicenter of 'care' should always remain the same - showing compassion, empathy and sensitivity - with a little (a lot) laughter thrown in if possible!

Please feel free to message - I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully supporting you and yours along the way!
